When you are going to host your WordPress website, you are going to check all type of server difference. Today we are going to talk about shared hosting vs managed WordPress hosting.

Shared Hosting

If you are getting started with building a small website and are unsure if you want to commit all the way, or not. however, if you’re looking to grow your website and are expecting to receive a very large amount of traffic, then you may want to consider upgrading to a reliable server than shared hosting. When you use a shared hosting your website is put on a server with thousands of other websites. In this case, we have no idea about their website security or if they are using a properly coded website theme. The usage on the shared server will get divided between every using the server. Which means that if a different website on the server experiences a large surge in traffic from a post going viral, then your site may load slowly as a result. Shared hosting providers simply are not as reliable and custom tailored to the WordPress environment. There’s no “correct” hosting server choice for all kind of business out there. But if you can able to pay an additional cost for WordPress managed to host definitely you can choose WordPress managed hosting plan.

Pros

  1. we can use any type of application if its support in this server We can install any third-party cms through cpanel softaculous.
  2. Low budget server
  3. The plan will come with cpanel or plesk. Through cpanel we can manage the domain, subdomain mapping, DNS editor, file manager and database management Some of the hosting companies provide with unlimited space for server and unlimited space for the database.
  4. We can host the “n” number of subdomains.(It depends on the hosting companies plan).

Cons

  1. For high traffic website, this plan is not suitable
  2. Manually do all the integration including SSL install, plugin update, website security issue
  3. Shared Ip for all the websites
  4. For startup website shared hosting will be suitable.

Managed WordPress Hosting

When it comes to resource management, you’ll rely on your host. This is usually a good thing, as you will receive greater support due to the knowledge and expertise your host has. However, there are fewer options for those who wish to optimize their server to their exact requirements.

Pros

  1. It’s incredibly fast. This level of hosting can often drop page loading speed and response time by a second or more.
  2. More secure This kind of web hosting service offers increased security protocols and more individual Plus, ized attention.
  3. server is always up to date
  4. Uptime increase
  5. Based on the hosting companies the Plan come with auto ssl installation, Automatic WordPress core software, staging server and security updates and easily migrate your existing website

Cons

  1. You can’t install other CMS and other applications
  2. Can’t manage your DNS record and sub domains.
  3. Not very flexible: even if your plan allows you to host multiple website, you are limited to build your website with wordpress only.

Configuration & Resource Allocation

The core difference between a “WordPress Hosting” plan and a “Web Hosting” plan for the hosting company is that they know what will be running on a specific server. They can configure the server and allocate resources specifically for WordPress. Some of these features will be near useless (like auto-installing “common” plugins). But some can be useful and worth the money for some.

You hopefully now have a good overall understanding of the differences between shared and managed WordPress hosting.
